Assassin’s Creed III: Remastered


Assassin’s Creed III: Remastered was my first professional project I shipped. The goal of the project started out as simply improving and porting AC3 to Xbox One and PS4, but we wanted to do more. We overhauled the graphics engine to use a modern PBR BRDF (physically-based rendering bidirectional reflectande distribution function) to match modern titles, as well as changing the lighting pipeline to use HDR values. We also worked on improving gameplay features to make the experience smoother overall.

Personally I was most involved in the HDR color implementation for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, providing support to the development team internally at Ubisoft Barcelona as well as to co-dev studios, doing some training presentations for the team about how to use the editor tools, TRC compliance for PS4, and general bug hunting and fixing.
