Who is Iker Giménez?

Iker is a software engineer specialized in C++ and real-time interactive simulations. Throughout his 8+ years of work in the games industry, he has worked on AAA titles at Ubisoft, on medium-sized productions at Funcom and Star Stable Entertainment, and smaller sized studios like Stellar Entertainment. He takes pride in not just delivering the bare minimum, paying attention to the details to better empower his co-workers and to polish the final experience delivered to players. Iker’s extensive experience in game development and his personal curiosity and ambition have extended his knowledge beyond the technical, and provides organizational and systemic feedback in the workplace, seeking ways to improve on what his teams and other teams can produce.

Iker got his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in Real Time Interactive Simulation with a minor in Mathematics from DigiPen Europe-Bilbao. DigiPen is a very demanding univeristy, with students learning to make software from scratch in C and C++. Despite the demanding nature of the university, the immense amount of practical knowledge gained from the experience has made Iker a quick learner who is able to contribute to the projects he joins rapidly. Employers and co-workers often remark on their surprise at how well he integrates into teams.

In his free time, he plays electric guitar, reads fiction and non-fiction, plays video games, tries out new recipes, and occasionally goes out on trail hikes.
